Ginkgo Biloba Extract 24%/6% out weighs all other Ginkgo Biloba’s. It has a minimum of 24% Ginkgo Flavone Glycosides, at least 6% terpene lactones, more than 0.8% Ginkgolide B, and less than 1 PPM of Ginkgolic acid. Ginkgo Biloba is believed to be an herb with powerful antioxidant effects in the brain, retina, and cardiovascular system.* Ginkgo Biloba Extract is also believed to enhance mental acuity and memory, increase circulation in the brain and to the extremities, potentially inhibit the oxidative events leading to the progression of Alzheimer’s and pre-senile dementia.* Many believe it can facilitate the removal and suspension of plaque off of the arterial walls, and inhibit platelet aggregation.*
R-Alpha Lipoic Acid is both a water and fat soluble antioxidant that is made naturally in the body and also found in foods. It is also used to break down carbohydrates and to help the mitochondria make energy. Alpha Lipoic Acid consists of two different forms, “R” and “S,” which have different properties. The “R” form is native to the body and is biologically active. The “S” form is not very biologically active. This antioxidant enzyme can catalyze the conversion of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. Hydrogen peroxide is a by-product of cellular metabolism. Catalase has one of the highest rates of turnover when compared to all other enzymes. In other words, one catalase enzyme may change up to 40 million molecules of hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen in just one second.
